John is Founder and Executive Director of Family Code Night and MV GATE, Inc. John is a veteran non-profit leader and information entrepreneur, with specialties in education, media, marketing, political marketing, and public relations. John was one of five featured program presenters at the White House Computer Science for All Summit in September 2016, spoke at the 2017 and 2019 CSforAll Summits, and at Infosys Crossroads 2018. John’s team created the Family Code Night event as part of MV GATE’s work with local schools in Mill Valley, California, then adapted the program into innovative Event Kit form for replication by elementary schools throughout the United States. John was founder and 16-year CEO of MediaMap, a media research and software provider for the public relations industry; and founded and directed “Ralph Don’t Run,” a national political campaign in 2003-2004 to encourage progressive opposition to the presidential candidacy of Ralph Nader. John appeared on CNN, CBS, ABC, NBC, and Fox, and produced a breakthrough campaign animation featured on Meet the Press. John has spoken at dozens of national conferences on CS education, public relations and marketing.
