About this Speaker

I am a passionate, progressive technology teacher; a STEAM advocate. I have advised award-winning robotics teams and digital video productions. I embrace new technology and media to reach students from diverse backgrounds. I have more than 15 years of classroom teaching experience in grades 1-12, integrating technology into curriculum and providing tech-based professional development to teachers at schools in New Jersey and Costa Rica. Currently, I am the Head of Design and Technology for the Schools of Excellence in San Jose, Costa Rica. My Makerspace courses encompass robotics, physical computing, 3-D printing, prototyping, and more in a PBL setting. I also conduct technology education professional development workshops for educators, covering diverse topics such as Google Apps, video game design, web-based creative tools, digital storytelling, podcasting and more.
